About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Long Island City, Casa Enrique offers an authentic Mexican dining experience that pulses with flavor and charm. Specializing in traditional Mexican cuisine with an inventive twist, this beloved restaurant invites guests to savor a variety of dishes that enchant the palate and celebrate Mexico’s rich culinary heritage.

From the moment you step inside Casa Enrique, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that is both lively and intimate—a place where the hum of conversation and laughter complements the rich aromas wafting from the kitchen. The menu is thoughtfully curated to showcase signature dishes like the Chamorro De Borrego Al Huaxamole, tender lamb shank slow-cooked with a luscious mole sauce, and the beloved Chile Relleno, featuring roasted poblano peppers stuffed with flavorful cheese and topped with a smooth, savory tomato sauce. Seafood lovers will delight in the fresh and zesty Fish Tacos, served on warm, handmade corn tortillas, while the hearty Pozole De Mi Tia provides a comforting, rich stew that offers a delicious taste of tradition.

The appetizers are a vibrant introduction to the meal, with the Guacamole with Chips combining creamy avocado, sharp serrano chile, and freshly made totopos for the perfect crunch, and the Ostiones Empanizados, crispy fried oysters paired with a spicy chili mayo that ignites the senses. For those craving something uniquely decadent, the Albondigas En Chipotle—beef meatballs swimming in chipotle-infused tomato sauce—deliver a delightful smoky heat.

Casa Enrique also shines with its artisan cocktails, expertly crafted to complement the food. Guests rave about inventive concoctions like the Watermelon Margarita, which bursts with bright, refreshing sweetness, and the Mint and Cucumber Margarita, a cool, herbal twist perfect for balancing the rich flavors of the dishes. The Michelada and Pisco Sour are also standouts for those seeking both tradition and innovation in their drink choices.

Ending the meal is an experience in itself with desserts such as the ethereal Pastel Tres Leches, a delicate sponge cake soaked in three varieties of milk and topped with goat milk caramel, as well as the velvety Flan Mexican custard. These sweet finishes provide the perfect balance of richness and lightness to round out an unforgettable dining experience.

What truly elevates Casa Enrique is its warm and welcoming service. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly staff and attentive bartenders who bring a personable touch even on the busiest nights. For instance, Nancy Liang shared how, despite the weekend rush, the bartender's graciousness made their bar seating comfortable and inviting. The restaurant’s vibe is another highlight—Andrew Hazelrigg described it as “really chill,” making it ideal for casual gatherings with friends or an intimate dinner. The location, adjacent to a charming children’s park, offers peaceful outdoor seating, a rare find in the bustling Long Island City neighborhood, making dining here even more enjoyable.

My boyfriend and I walked in on Sunday around 8pm over Labor Day weekend and the place was packed. There weren't any tables available, so we sat at the bar. It was very busy, especially at the bar, so the seating wasn't ideal, but the bartender who served us was such a nice guy. He was very gracious and personable to all guests, not just us, even though he was clearly very busy. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, enchiladas, ribs and tres leches for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Can't wait to return.

I came here with the boys. We had the tamarind margarita which was delicious. The mole chicken dish was our favorite. But everything was excellent. The vibe inside was also really chill

Great meal at Casa Enrique last night. We had an 8:30 reservation but were able to get sat early, as we arrived faster than anticipated. Lovely service, and we had enough pozole to bring home with us. Perfect as the weather is turning cold. Need to return to dig into more of their long cocktail list!

My cousin from the Philippines were visiting NY and invited me with others to have dinner at this restaurant. I have to start something totally unrelated to this topic, was finding a parking on the street like, Manassas Virginia where I live finding a parking is never an issue no matter where you go to here in this town. I was little late but dinner was ready and preciously placed on the table with rest of the side dishes. I hade a probably a 6oz steak as a main course with other sides as you can see in the picture. Since I spent decades with Mexican family in California, I really do know the taste of assorted salsas and sauces, it was to the perfection. Steak was medium rare tender and was easy to chew on. I loved the masa tortilla, reminded me of someone especial who use to make it from the scratch. Our Host Andres and the rest of the host was wonderful, friendly and attentive to our needs. Definitely will go back next time I’m in New York. Thank You!

This is a terrific Mexican restaurant with some of the most delightful dishes. Steak is super tender, perfectly cooked at medium raw, juicy and melts in your mouth. Tacos come with fresh corn tortillas. The meat is fresh, sweet and savory. Fish ceviche is tangy, spicy. The restaurant is right off of Vernon, slightly more secluded being next to a children park/playground. Outdoor seatings are available. Service is quick. We were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon for an early dinner without a reservation. The price is on the higher end for mexican food but I still recommend for occasional treat for anyone to try.

Casa Enrique continues to be one of the best restaurants in Long Island City and it fully deserves its reputation. Every time we visit, the food is consistent, fresh, and full of bold flavor. You can taste the care in the cooking, whether it’s the guacamole, ceviche, enchiladas, or their signature mole. The dishes are beautifully balanced without being overly complicated, which makes the experience feel both comforting and special. The service is another reason we keep returning. The staff is warm, patient, and genuinely welcoming. Even on busy nights, they make you feel taken care of and always offer thoughtful recommendations. It is clear they care about creating a positive experience for every guest. The atmosphere is relaxed but polished, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or celebrating something meaningful. It has become one of those rare neighborhood restaurants where you want to bring friends and family just to share how good it is. We also love that the quality has never slipped no matter how popular it gets. Casa Enrique is a true gem in Queens. If you are in LIC and want an amazing meal with great service, this should be at the top of your list.
